The classic home-made pastry specialities, simple and natural, prepared with love and dedication and according to family recipes, in the kitchens where the “vergara” (matriarch), carrying on peasant traditions, kneaded desserts with her outstretched hands, enhancing the raw materials and the simplicity of the dishes. She was the queen of the domestic hearth, the figure who held and administered the finances of the house, a reference point for all the members of the family and beyond: in her there were peasant traditions and authority.

These delicious dishes were served as a dessert for special occasions, family parties or simply as a treat for yourself during the day. Traditional desserts represent a small slice of Marche history and culinary tradition, bringing with them the flavour of home and the warmth of the past.
